University of Sydney International scholarships for international students 2023

The University of Sydney Scholarship 2022/2023 is a full-fledged masters and doctoral scholarship available to international students. The scholarship covers both tuition and living expenses. The $40,000 scholarship is paid in two equal installments over the course of a year.

The University of Sydney encourages overseas students who are eligible to seek a Postgraduate Research Degree or a Master‘s by Research program to apply for the University of Sydney International Research Scholarship (USydIS).

What are the Benefits of the University of Sydney International Scholarships 2023

The University of Sydney International Scholarships (USydIS) will cover tuition and living expenses for up to three years, with a one-semester extension available for Ph.D. students.

  • The $40,000 scholarship is paid in two equal installments over the course of year.
  • The $20,000 scholarship is paid in two equal installments over the course of year.
  • The $10,000 award will be paid out over the course of one semester.
  • The $5,000 award will be paid out over the course of one semester.

Eligibility Criteria for University of Sydney International Scholarships

  • English is required language.
  • All countries in the world are eligible.
  • Be student pursuing degree in subject area that the University has selected as one of its current or emerging research strengths.
  • You must not have received an Australia Award scholarship within the previous two years before applying for the RTP Fee Scholarship.
  • Be full-time international student enrolled in Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program at this university. 
  • Students may be considered for admission until they have completed maximum of six months of course work.
  • Unless you previously got an RTP Fee Scholarship for Master by Research degree that you have completed and are currently applying for doctorate research degree, you must not have previously received an RTP Fee Scholarship.
  • Not hold research qualification seen as equivalent to or higher than an Australian Research Doctorate degree, or not hold research qualification regarded as equivalent to or higher than an Australian Research Master’s degree if pursuing Research Master’s degree.
  • Not have applied for the scholarship more than three times in the last five years.
  • Not be receiving scholarship in which course tuition is component as part of any other scholarship plan to which the Australian Government contributes significantly.

How to find a supervisor at the University of Sydney?

  • You’ll need mentor who shares your academic interests and has agreed to work with you for the duration of your degree. It’s just as important to find the correct supervisor as it is to choose study topic.
  • To find current research supervisors and research projects, use the Research Supervisor Connect database. 
  • To contact supervisor, click the “Contact Research Expert” tab on the project page. It’s critical for them to understand: your academic background and research expertise; the topic or area you’d want to explore; and how your proposed research project matches their knowledge and experience.
The following documents should be included to support your research inquiry:
  • Curriculum Vitae is type of resume.
  • Academic transcripts for all degrees earned.
  • An outline for research project. Show how your research experience matches with the supervisor’s and why you’re interested in this opportunity in no more than 2000 words.   •  Finally,
  • Fill out and submit your application.
  • Your application will be evaluated.
